Elections are over. Looking at 2008
It has been a while since I last wrote anything. The elections for the republican’s nation wide were not good. Republicans forgot who elected them and why they were there. There were scandals, partisanship, over spending and down right follow the party line.
Statistically speaking the republicans did not represent the American electorate and they paid for it by not voting to represent their constituents, but voted to support their party.
My web site saw remarkable visits leading up to the election. This is a bit odd since I was not on the ballot for the general election. The referrals show that social security is still a big issue and if the visits to my web site is any indication, it is growing.
I was eating lunch with a group of people this past week and it is surprising just how many people have not heard of my campaign. A person who lives less than five miles from me should have easily seen at least ten campaign signs on their way to work, yet never heard of my campaign. In fact not one of the four individuals at the table heard of my campaign, but all support me now.
A comment was made that I need a marketing agent and I think they are right.
The one person who lives close said they had voted for Souder because republicans were better than democrats. Turns out they are a strong supporter of Souder. After speaking with them for five minutes they told me they would support me in 2008.
My campaign received basically 30% of the vote in the 2006 primary. This definitely is not just a protest vote. It is time to start raising money for the first time and running a full fledge campaign for U.S. Representative. It is time to unseat Souder and it can be done in 2008.
I need everyone’s help in doing this. If you are interested in helping in any of the areas please let me know:
- Putting up campaign signs in your area.
- Setting up speaking to groups.
- Fund raising
- Marketing
- Calling people
- If there is a parade in your area where I can walk and pass out literature
- Web site design
But most importantly, speak with your friends, family and co-workers. Word of mouth is the best form of advertisement and by far the cheapest.
